How do you photograph a family with 10 children between the ages of 1 and 20? Bribery…pure and simple. I often hear moms and dads whispering “if you do a good job for just 5 more minutes , then you’ll get a …(fill in the blank)”. Call it bribery, cajoling, sweet-talking…whatever. It usually works, and I’m totally ok with that. I have a few tricks up my sleeve for little kids when we’re one-on-one, but in a big group with lots of young kids my gameplan is to just make sure I take A LOT of pictures. I think I found a great one:

I admire the close relationship that Kimberly and her seven daughters share. The sun was setting, but I had to quickly capture this moment…my favorite from the evening. To me it tells their story without words:
